Our story began when our family moved from Berlin, Germany, to Charleston, SC—bringing with us memories, traditions, and a love for good food. Not long after, a container arrived, filled with the tools and ingredients to help turn our dream into reality—and even a few pieces of home.

We brought the rich flavors and time-honored traditions of Berlin, blending European authenticity with Southern hospitality. Inspired by community and a deep love of food, we’ve created a menu rooted in comfort and crafted with care—from fresh German pastries and unique Mediterranean-influenced bagels, to subs, salads, and most importantly, good coffee made just the way it should be.

As a family, we’ve poured our hearts into creating a place where people feel welcome, connected, and nourished. At Cafe Charlotte, food is more than a meal—it’s a way to share stories, celebrate culture, and build community.
